28 February 2008 Chris Musumba Former world marathon record holder, Paul Tergat, will run his first major race in slightly over a year as he leads the men's pack in this year's Zayed International Marathon to be held in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. Tergat, who left the country on Tuesday night, and current women's half-marathon record holder Lornah Kiplagat of the Netherlands will feature in the richest half marathon in the world with a purse of Sh140m ($2 million).
Kiplagat, who trains in Iten, travelled to Abu Dhabi on the backdrop of a resounding victory in last weekend's World's Best 10km race in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she convincingly beat Ethiopia's Mestawet Tufa. Read the full article at: allafrica.com
